The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) is the 'umbrella' body for county associations. It provides dedicated legal and technical advice for county associations and represents local councils at government level.

County Council

The Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC) is the professional association for parish and town clerks.

Planning Aid provides free, independent and professional town planning advice and support to communities and individuals who cannot afford to pay planning consultant fees. It complements the work of local planning authorities but is wholly independent of them.

SEEDA is the Government funded agency set up in 1999 responsible for the economic and social development of the South East of England - the driving force of the UK's economy.

The Regional Assembly represents the views of councils and communities in the South East. The Assembly comprises 111 members - 73 councillors from the region's local authorities plus representatives from the business, voluntary and environmental sectors. The Assembly has a strategic role, setting priorities for the region which includes regional planning and housing.
